Lynn Britton
Dr. Lynn Britton is excited to bring acupuncture, Chinese herbal therapy, and rehabilitation therapy services to Gill Bright Animal Hospital! Originally from Birmingham, Alabama, Dr. Britton moved to Louisiana to play softball for the University of Louisiana at Lafayette (previously USL). She graduated from the Louisiana State University School of Veterinary Medicine in 2006 and completed a rotating internship at Central Texas Veterinary Specialty and Emergency Hospital in Austin, Texas in 2007. She completed both a surgical internship in 2008 and a surgical residency program in 2011 at Veterinary Specialists and Emergency Services in Rochester, NY. Throughout her career, Dr. Britton has sought a multimodal approach to pain management for the pets she treats, and that is how she was introduced to Chinese medicine. She obtained certification in Veterinary Acupuncture and Palliative/End-of-Life care from the Chi University in Reddick, Florida. Dr. Britton has extensive training in Chinese herbal therapy, too, and is working towards certification in that field. Dr. Britton was first introduced to rehabilitation therapy during her surgical residency, and she employs a diverse range of treatment methods to help care for pets with a variety of orthopedic, neurologic, and metabolic conditions. Using an integrative approach to veterinary medicine, Dr. Britton seeks to improve and extend the quality of life of every pet she meets.
Dr. Britton’s personal interests include music, traveling, quilting, and reading. She loves spending time with her family and good friends, and she is avid sports fan. She has two dogs (Andy and Atticus) and two cats (Gibson and Martin).
