Catherine Kohler

When I was young, I always said I wanted to be a veterinarian or a comedian. When my many knock-knock jokes fell flat, I began to realize my true strengths were more geared for science. Growing up with our family zoo of dogs, cats, rabbits, gerbils, and fish, I always loved the responsibility of caring for our pets. After a few years of undergraduate study, my childhood dream became a reality when I was accepted into LSU Veterinary School. It has been a long road, but this profession has brought me the joy and satisfaction that I had always hoped for. Being with animals all day is the ultimate dream! I knew I had to stay focused on my schooling since veterinary school is so competitive. It has been very satisfying to see all of my hard work paying off in the clinic.

Gill Bright Animal Hospital has been my family’s pet care provider since I was young. I have always admired the team there and it has been a lifelong goal to join them in their pursuit of animal care. I am honored to work among my mentors and I hope to bring SWLA the same quality of care our family has known for years. Outside of the clinic, you can find me running with my dog, trying to travel the world, cooking adventurous recipes with my husband, or reading a good book by the pool!
